We’re called SASS (Swab And Save Someone) because we ‘Talk Back’ to cancer. We don’t give up the search for matches. We’re energetic, motivated, and a little bit bold when it comes to fighting the battle against cancer. This isn’t Lori’s first battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) in 2009 at the age of 30. She achieved remission in 2010, then relapsed in 2012 and then again in June 2014 with the chronic form of NHL. She is Korean, an American, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a best friend, a cancer fighter, she is alive and she is just like you. Lori was unable to find a matching bone marrow donor in time, so she elected to have an umbilical cord blood transplant. We wish Lori and quick recovery.
